Birthday Weekend

We had a really good time with the family and are sad to see them go. It will probably be awhile until we get to see them again.
We tried to get in some pool time. Although it was in the 100's the pool was FREEZING!

Vegas with the Fan-damily

We had a really good time this weekend in Vegas. Calen has grown so much since the last time I saw him. He is crawling everywhere and stands up....almost walking time! We even placed bets on when he will walk first. The winner gets 120 big ones! I had a talk with Cal and he promised not to walk until my day....what can I say? We're pretty tight. My dad and sister got him a balloon when they first got into town. Calen was in LOVE with it....



Friday night Calen stayed with Great Gigi and Grammy and Papo while Pabs, Beth and I hit the town. The next day when we went to pick up Cal, he was sporting a special birthday surprise for me....

We are meeting my family in Vegas this weekend....I am so excited to see how big Cal is! I also haven't seen my grammy in awhile....it should be a good time!

Pablo doesn't like my driving, so he drove the whole way up...

As we were crossing the Hoover Dam, I noticed that God had blessed our trip to Vegas with a bird pooping on my window! Beautiful!

Birthday at Zipps

Last night we went to Zipps for my birthday dinner. Since I am going to be out of town in Vegas on my actual birthday, we did it the Saturday before. Pablo ALWAYS takes longer than I do to get ready, so I decided to take some self portraits with the dogs as we waited for him to get out of his 45 minute shower...I am surprised how well they turned out. Pecas is trying to lick my mouth since I had just put on cherry chap stick....she is obsessed with chap stick. If we are not careful she will climb furniture, grab our chap stick and proceed to eat the tube...

Pablo and I at dinner....it wasn't until we were on our way home that I realized that I forgot to take photos with Bre, Beth, Mark and Rosemary. I am always bringing my camera places and then forget to take photos...

Bre gave me this gum that I have been looking for FOREVER! Orbitz has a limited edition pomegranate gum. Every store that I go into I have looked for it and cannot find it anywhere. I was so excited....I couldn't contain myself.

Morning Surprise

I have an appointment today to have my first mammogram done. I guess Pablo could tell that I was nervous, because I woke up and found this in the kitchen....The card said not to worry, everything would be fine. Love, Max, Pecas and Pabs

Things I love...

Okay, so I did a blog all about things that piss me off. I must have been having one of those days. To make up for my negativity, here are some things that I heart...

• getting mail....not email but an actual card or letter from family or friends.
• coming up with a theme (aka costumes for my dogs to wear) for my yearly Christmas cards. Taking the photo is difficult, but they are so darn cute dressed up.
• having a song stuck in my head for days and then turning on the car and the song starts playing....love that.
• how excited my dogs get when I say "good morning" when I wake up each day.
• jewerly....and it doesn't have to be "real", I just love accessories.
• the feeling of my skin after I use "I'm in the mood for scrub" from Bath and Body Works
• the smell of garlic or onion cooking...mmm
• a really good book that I just can't put down.
• when I let the dogs out of their kennel after work, Pecas literally smiles at me when she jumps up to greet me....it's so cute!
• a really good hug. There is nothing better!
• Root Beer Floats....I would swear I was pregnant, but I know without a doubt that I am not. I have been CRAVING root beer floats for the past two months.
• football season and going to Gallagher's to watch my Broncos.
• Tortilla soup from La Parilla Suiza...it's kind of Pabs and my place. We ALWAYS go there and we always get the same thing each time.
• Monsoon season...I love the rain and how windy it gets. The skies get all red/orange/browny.
• Easter...it's my favorite holiday. I love dyeing eggs and my favortie candy (Cadbury eggs) is at all the grocery stores.

Va Va Voom!

When I was out shopping with a friend, I found this really cute mirror. I just had to have it. I now have it at work and use it to check my teeth for leftover lunch tidbits, apply lipstick, make sure my fro is fabulous, and make sure I didn't schmear mascara all over my face when I rub my eyes.

Pet Peeves

1. When you have to stop at a red light and no one is driving the other way.
2. Buying something new and the price sticker not coming all of the way off...then you have the leftover paper stuck on and you have to scrape it off....and then once you scrape that off, you have to get the goo off...annoying.
3. On the 15th of every month I go to my bank before work. I am usually the first one waiting outside the locked doors. EVERY time, another customer walks up and asks me "are the doors locked" and they try to open them. HELLO???? Why in the hell would I be standing outside waiting for the bank to open if the doors were unlocked???
4. People that do not respect my personal bubble...you know...your personal space....they just come too close.
5. People with bad breath. Someone I work with has REALLY bad breath. Go spend 50 cents on a pack of gum and save the office from your stank breath!
6. Junk mail. Not so much the junk email, but the actual mail you get....Penny saver, coupons, local dentists, local landscapers, credit card applications...
