Marisha

My college friend Marisha came into town from California with her family. She had a new addition- she is adopting a little boy and I fell in love with him. He even sat next to me at dinner and was enjoying my garlic mashed potatoes just as much as I was. Bre and I had a great time hanging out with Marisha and her family. Her kids are so cute....they made me want a big pile of my own! (How bout it Pabs???)

After dropping Marisha's husband Carlo off with the kids, the ladies hit the town. We ended up at the only bar that was not charging a cover....on a WEDNESDAY. Sorry, but I refused to pay a cover before Thursday....stupid! We ended up at Fat Tuesday and enjoyed some beverages. The bartender has us enter a contest and guess who won??? Moi! I won two VIP tickets to a spring training game and I get to ride the Miller party bus to the game....aw yeah. We had a great time with Marisha and want her to move here!!!

Cast Your Vote

"Moose" comes home this Sunday. "Moose" was given his nickname while he is still with his mommy because he saunters up to the food trough, gorges himself, and then saunters over to the doggy bed and sleeps as the other puppies pounce all over him.

Pablo and I are very excited but were discussing how similar the names "Max" and "Moose" are. Pablo does not think the dogs will be able to decipher the two. So, I am leaving it up to you. Please vote for the name for our new puppy...he is a boy and a black lab. The poll is located over on the left hand side of my blog.

Don't like any of the names on the poll?? Leave a comment with your suggestion!

Inspiring

Last Monday I attended the Phoenix Business Journal's "Women in Business Trade Show and Luncheon". It was really inspiring to hear all of the nominee's different stories of struggle and success. After lunch, there was a panel of women that were interviewed with tips, etc. for everyone. I hope to attend this each year and help support business's run by women in the Phoenix area.

First Pool Day of the Year

Yesterday was officially (in my book, and yes that is the only one that counts) the "First Pool Day of the Year". What, you ask, is "First Pool Day of the Year"???

I made it up. It is starting to heat up here in P-town and before I can blink my eye it will be in the 100's. Yesterday was 90-some degrees and after Pablo helped me thoroughly clean our house I shouted "First Pool Day of the Year". I then ran out and jumped into the pool in my tank top and underwear...I know, great cleaning outfit ;)

Pablo did not buy into my craziness and watched me quickly swim out and grab a towel. The pool is still a little to cold for swimming, but I rang in the pool year in style- tank top and undies....Woo-hoo!

Mmm...water

Thursday night my fan died. Pablo was into a really good snore, so I had to relocate to our guest room. Saturday we went to dinner at our fav mexican place and stopped by Target to buy me a new fan and restore our normal sleeping arrangements. (He would never admit it, but Pablo HATES when I sleep in the other room) While checking out, I noticed that Dasani now has flavored water. I bought "black cherry" and I like it. I am not a Gatorade fan...too salty. In general I don't buy the "flavored, energizing water"....plain old H2O is good enough for me. But this Dasani water is pretty good. It is not too sweet or overly flavored. I may have to sneak one in every once in a while to jazz things up.
